Many of you know that SERVIAM–I will serve—is the motto of Ursuline schools around the world. Sharing one’s gifts and treasures with others through service is central to Jesus’ message. And as I’ve travelled the country, I’ve seen how commitment to service endures and continues a lifetime in those who call themselves “Christian”.
How about you? Are you ready to give a little more of yourself in service? I’m really happy to share about some service projects we Ursulines have planned for summer 2015. We’re offering two opportunities for women ages 18-30 to join us for a week of volunteer service, community, prayer and fun.
The first, an Art Camp for children, will take place June 7-13 in New Orleans. The second will be service with children, the elderly and immigrants July 8-15 in Laredo, Texas. Volunteers will stay with the Ursulines; Sr. Jean and I will also be there. We’ll have time to reflect and share on our experience as well as have some fun. St. Angela’s spirit will be with us in all we do! There’s no cost to volunteers except transportation to and from New Orleans or Laredo, and we offer financial help for that. See the attached flyer and contact me (email@example.com) for more information. It’s a great opportunity to make service more real in your life!
