P1020059As I wrote in my last post, I had the privilege of attending the Global Ursuline Education Conference in New York last week. A group of more than 140 Ursuline educators from 20 countries, we experienced what it is to be an international FAMILY in the spirit of St. Angela Merici.  Here are just a few of the wonderful things we heard during the week:

P1020041As we do ministry, we know God as one who calls, transforms and invites us to fullness of life. We must be persons of breadth of vision, trust, humility, courage, forgiveness, and embracing the Paschal Mystery in daily life. (Ann Garrido)

P1020025St. Angela did not concern herself with outcomes.  “Leave that to God,” she said. (Sr. Mary Virginia Orna)

St. Angela experienced life as a path open to new places, with a destination.  We can equip ourselves for its challenges.  Our lives and those of our students are experiences of journey.  (Mary-Cabrini Durkin)

The richness of this week in the company of so many Ursuline educators was truly an experience of support, encouragement, and new life.  What an awesome family!
